OUR CAPABILITIES
Morgood Tools was founded in 1945 when 3 men from Cleveland Ohio merged their talents with tool makers in Rochester, NY with the purpose of making the finest form tools and cams for single spindle screw machines. Circulars and Dovetails eventually grew into step drills and counterbores, and broaches and milling cutters soon followed. In the 70's carbide tooling was added to our offerings, and Morgood quickly gained a reputation for the finest carbide endcutting specials in the industry.
Over the years we've remained focused on custom cutting tools of all varieties while also adding the ability to manufacture special gages, fixtures, and collets, as well as perform production grinding and prototype machining. By working with local partners, we offer plasma spray coating, workholding assemblies, and tool coatings along with your special tooling needs.
Today we're proud to do all this and more by giving your project the attention of our founders while applying the machine technologies of today. Although the methods have changed, our simple philosophy on quality is the same today as when we started in 1945:
"We create tools for you as if we were using them ourselves."

Though we're looking forward, we constantly remember where we're from. While making precise pieces on advanced CNC machinery, many of our products are still ground manually by skilled craftsmen. Whether using CAD/CAM and complex programming, or turning handles on a grinder, our dedicated workforce has always found new and innovative ways to satisfy a customer's requirement. This balance of art and technology have allowed us to develop unique methods of machining and grinding of the most complex parts.
Our most important resource is our people. Our team of grinders, machinists, engineers, and support staff share an average of over 15 years tenure with Morgood and boast over 900 years industry experience. Each one of our employees, whether seasoned veteran or new recruit is focused on making the best tools and machined parts we can to satisfy our loyal customers.
